I did not include a subject line in my initial post on this forum, so forgive me if this is a duplicate. I am purchasing the Akorn Kamado in about 3 weeks. I have been using an offset box type smoker for about 7 yrs but have decided to try this style cooker/smoker after reading many reviews. I would consider myself a novice even though I have been low and slow cooking for several years. I have never kept notes or tried to recreate a previous success. All this is about to change, I'm gonna take this a bit more seriously from here on out. I look forward to learning from each and everyone of you here and wish to thank in advance those of you that will become my mentors and friends. If any of you live in the Memphis area I would enjoy meeting in person for a beer or two,,,,( I'll buy ).....Any tips or advice you may offer in advance of my purchase to make thing easier would be greatly appreciated......Dan

Dan, you seem like a cool dude. Welcome to the forums and I hope you enjoy the exchange of information, chronicles of failures, success stories, as well as witty banter that can be found within these pages. Oh and the occasional recipe by JM, the serious one here .Keep on grillin!
