Any feedback on the CG thermometer package?

Postby bebenn » Sun Aug 19, 2012 9:51 am

I love my Akorn, but like most, have found the temp gauge to be wildy innacurate. Has anyone purchased the thermometer package from Char Griller? My research on Mavericks seem to be love it or hate it?

The CG thermo is the Mav 732. And I may not 'love' it, but we have a close personal relationship. ;-)

Thanks Ken! I am going to go ahead and order it tomorrow, along with the smokin stone.

Only drawback is that you can't adjust the target internal food temp down, only up until it resets. A little annoying. Otherwise it works excellent!

I bought CG thermo package and I'm very happy with it. I think someone who has the Maverick said the same thing, you can only go up in the temp if you need to reset the temp to a lower temp ( for the CG and the Maverick)
I have wrapped the top ends of both probes with aluminium foil, so far knock on wood, they have worked great.
